This crown jewel of a nature trail is rich with wildflowers, aspens, & dogwoods. It winds 2 miles along Lake Superior with panoramic views of the lake. Fox, mink, deer, eagles and neotropical birds are among the fauna that have been seen along the trail. Several secluded sandy beaches lie just off the trail. The annual May Nature and Birding Festival is held at the Great Lakes Visitors Center, near Washburn.
